Blokish is an Android implementation of the popular board game Blokus*. It is a family puzzle game involving four players and a board with 20 x 20 squares. Like tetris, it involves arranging of block-shapes, but like chess or checkers, it’s a simple turn-based strategy game for which at any time you can see and must reply to the placement of your opponent’s pieces to play.
You may play against the AI or a friend on the same device.
How to play:
Each player starts with 21 pieces : 1 monomino, 1 domono, 2 triominos, 5 tetraminos and 12 pentaminos.
In the first round you must place a piece so that it touches one of the corners of the board.
Next, a piece must be placed so that it touches a corner of one of your own pieces. It may touch several corners, but never any side/edge of your pieces.
If you or any of the other players cannot legally place another piece you pass your respective turn.
The end of the game is reached when every player passes, and the winner is the one with the highest sum of all squares of pieces placed.
Hints:
The game has a simple and intuitive User Interface: just Drag & Drop the piece with the finger. Rotate a piece likewise.
You can FLIP a piece to its mirror position with a long-press gesture.
You can see opponent’s remaining pieces, by pressing corresponding tab.
If your not sure how to play, refer to ‘Menu > Help’ inside the app. With several screenshots.
You can safely quit at any time : your current game will be restored on next startup.
You can change the AI difficulty level to your preference by going to Menu > Settings > Level.
Go to Menu > Settings and click to disable the AI if you want to play against (a) friend(s) on the same device during your next game.
