The smallest version in Amazon’s Echo Family is the Dot. Dot is a lot like Echo, in fact it really does look like a sibling of the largest unit. The main difference between the two is that Dot lacks the powerful speaker of the Echo Unit, alternatively, Dot can be plugged directly into another speaker or connect via bluetooth to enjoy music and communicate with Alexa. Both units are dependent on being plugged into a wall socket for power. Where Echo is the all knowing and all powerful, Dot is the great connector. All Echo units feature Alexa and Dot is no exception. Regardless of where she is (Echo, Tap or Dot) Alexa is always learning about her users’ preferences. Use of Alexa is inherent to all Echo devices and allows for an almost totally hands-free management of home systems and hardware. Dot tethers to speakers and other smart home equipment, allowing the user to make queries, listen to music, get recipe ingredients, ask for the latest news and even order take out or an Uber to get it!
Preppers and Fans of apocalyptic fiction novels like The Stand, Lucifer’s Hammer, The Postman, Swan Song, Sedulity, Patriots: Surviving the Coming Collapse and The Perseid Collapse Saga will love The Dying Time: Impact.
When the Impact destroyed civilization and re-sculpted the globe the only survivors were the hastily expanded crew of the ISS, who watched the devastation below with growing horror, while wondering if they would ever get to go home, a few Preppers, whose stores of food and other commodities made them irresistible targets and the desperate hordes who would do anything–eat anyone–to live.
Imagine being a thousand miles from the impact site and being almost deafened by the sound and seeing buildings flattened by the shock wave. You are thrown off your feet by jolting earthquakes that peg the Richter scale, nearly burned to death by fire falls–think rain showers but with magma–and if you live along a coastline (or likely anywhere within several hours drive) you’ll be swept away by tsunamis large as mountains.
The Amazon Echo is a device with personal assistant functions operated by voice commands. It uses the Alexa platform to connect with unlimited resources from the Alexa cloud. Echo users will be able to gain access to various information including, but not limited to, music and general information such as traffic and weather updates. In addition, users can also perform both office and home management through the device.
Sadly, Amazon Echo doesn’t come with a complete guide or handbook to help you unfold its full potential. With that in mind, this book was written to serve as an all-in-one guide to help both newbies and longtime users of Amazon Echo.
Many of you may be asking, “What the heck is mindfulness in the first place”. I know that was my initial reaction when I first introduced to the concept a few years back. Well, this isn’t some new idea. The concept of mindfulness has been around for over a thousand years.
Being mindful means living in each moment and experiencing it fully. It teaches you how to become fully aware of yourself and your surroundings while also improving focus and attentiveness. Mindfulness has been scientifically proven to help improve symptoms of insomnia, depression, anxiety, along with aiding in stress relief and better general well-being.
Mindfulness can teach you how to stop worrying about your future and start living in the present. It’ll help you focus your energy and passion into living a happier and more productive life. I’ve found that once I started practicing mindfulness in my daily life I was able to increase my productivity at work, and still have plenty of time to spend experiencing life with my friends and family.
