Napoleon Hill (1883 – 1970) was a pioneer of personal-success literature. His most famous work, Think and Grow Rich (1937), which tops today’s Buffet, is one of the best-selling books of all time. At the time of Hill’s death in 1970, the book had sold 20 million copies.
Inspired by a suggestion from industrialist Andrew Carnegie, Hill explains the philosophy that helped the wealthiest and most accomplished members of society succeed.
Hill’s books examined the power of personal beliefs, and the role they play in personal success. “What the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve” is one of his trademark expressions.

Hill was born in Wise County, Virginia. He began his writing career at age 13 as a “mountain reporter” for small town newspapers.
