Amazon has unveiled two new Kindles that will be available in about 10 days — a high-definition Kindle Fire<\/a>, and a “Paperwhite” e-Ink Kindle:<\/a><\/p>\n

Both are irresistible, if you ask me. I’ve placed pre-orders for both, and will post a review here after I’ve given each a test-drive.<\/p>\n

Both models have two or more flavors — the new Fires have optional 3G data (or WiFi only) and two memory options. I sprung for the 32-GB Wi-Fi model. For the Paperwhite e-Ink, I went with the least expensive model, which comes with “Special Offers.” That one is $20 cheaper, but shows advertisements when it’s in sleep mode. Well worth the 20 bucks, in my opinion.<\/p>\n
