Amazon seller survey: Spam or filet?

Got this survey via e-mail today. It’s supposedly from “Amazon Services” but it seemed very spammy to me. For example, the first question asked for my Amazon seller e-mail address for “verification” purposes. Hey, if this is legit, shouldn’t you have my address already? Unlike some other Amazon surveys I’ve received, there was no promise of a $5 Amazon gift certificate.

At least it didn’t ask me for a password…

We also received this and thought that it was just a little off. Has anyone contacted Amazon to see if it was sent by them?

I received the survey too, right before your post…I have received surveys like this in the past, with similar questions, so I’m inclined to believe it is real and not spam. Not a bad idea to check it out with Amazon Seller Support, first, though if there’s any doubt.

I got the survey, too, and I did not click on the link. It didn’t look right to me. I’ve completed similar surveys from Amazon in the past, but very little has come of them. Whether it’s from Amazon or not doesn’t matter. It’s a waste of my time either way.

By the way, I thought the link at the bottom to unsubscribe was very suspicious. I don’t think I can unsubscribe from Amazon’s mailings since they are employed by by me as part of my bookselling business. That doesn’t make sense.
