Book price-comparison site promises to show best offers

The Internet is littered with book price-comparison shopping engines. (My favorites are AddAll and BookFinder.) But I just found a new one, Bookase,  which promotes itself as a tool for booksellers to find the best offer prices for books you want to get rid of. From the site:

Sell your books for cash. Compare the prices of your books from the multiple stores to get you the highest prices for them. Use the above Search Box for our Buyback Comparison of the books to find the best purchasing offers and get CASH for those books you don’t need anymore!

The problem: The only offers you see are from book buyback services, which usually give you only a fraction of what you’d make selling the book yourself. For example, the book The 4-Hour Workweek. The best offers shown are $3 or $4. Considering the book sells like hotcakes on Amazon Marketplace for nearly $12 — hey, I’d like to get a copy for $4 myself!

Many a times I use Pricegrabber and Onewayshopping.com for school supplies and computer accessories.

Just wondering if there is any interest in President Obama pictured in a yearbook(Na Opio O Punahou 1971-1972) when he was only in the fifth grade. It appears that the president also signed the yearbook which belonged to someone named Allison with his initials “B.O.”
It would seem that most will be interested but I only had a few responses(on Craigslist.com). Do you think it’s worth anything or should I just trash it?
Would greatly appreciate a reply. Thanks!

Albert, eBay would be the place to start with your Obama yearbook. But first, you might want to get an appraisal at an antiques dealer or collectibles shop first, just to get a ballpark idea what it’s worth. Craigslist does not seem to be a viable way to sell collectibles, in my opinion.

Bookase sounds like BookTrawller – who would use you as a contractor – you buy and ship and “trust” them to pay you for what you can use plus shipping your lot – Slavery or employment?

They are probably selling he $4 book for $12. Under a hidden name or the cat would be out of the bag.

Do a WHOIS on the site. It may be owned by a big player.
