Amazon Seller Community: Launch of Buyer-Seller Messaging …

From Amazon’s seller announcement board:

We’d like to inform you of a change we are planning to implement gradually this week.

The Buyer-Seller Messaging Service (formerly called the Communication Manager) is a system that facilitates e-mail communication between buyers and sellers in the Amazon marketplace. The current version of the Buyer-Seller Messaging Service is enabled for the first e-mail message between buyer and seller. Our plan is to enhance this service by implementing a system that applies to all communication between buyers and sellers.

Over time, we hope to achieve the following objectives by using the Buyer-Seller Messaging Service for all communications between buyers and sellers:

1. Increase the security of buyer-to-seller communication.

2. Resolve disputes faster and better by ensuring Amazon.com employees reviewing the dispute have access to all buyer-seller communications.

3. Reduce the number of A-Z claims filed by encouraging and verifying pre-claim buyer/seller communication.

4. Eliminate unnecessary contacts during claims investigations.
