Bookselling roundup for Thursday

How are your sales holding up during this recession? Do you need a federal bailout?

My hunch is that sellers with lots of overhead are struggling. Selling high-end collectible books is probably tough in this environment. On the other hand, it’s probably a good time to sell a used book for $10 if the new price is $20:

    I loved, loved, loved the C-Span interview with Wonder Books. Really nice to see how the owner so genuinely cares about books, that it almost physically pains him to throw a book away. I can relate to that! Although I am not sure I would go to the extend of keeping 3 containers loaded up with 120,000 Russian books in my backyard. Respect, he really does love books….
