Angela E. Hunt has written more than 100 books, including The Tale of Three Trees, The Debt, The Note, and The Nativity Story. Most have a Christian theme, and she considers some of her books to be parables. Her books have sold 4 million copies worldwide.

Angela’s 1996 historical novel about the Roanoke “Lost Colony” tops today’s Buffet. Roanoke, in present-day North Carolina, was a late 16th-century attempt by Queen Elizabeth I to establish a permanent English settlement. Under the charter of Sir Walter Raleigh, it was founded 22 years before Jamestown and 37 years before the Pilgrims arrived. But the 117 colonists were ill-prepared and depended on local Indians for food. The final group of colonists disappeared during the Anglo-Spanish War, three years after the last shipment of supplies from England. Their disappearance gave rise to the nickname “The Lost Colony.”

Angela did quite a bit of research before writing Roanoke, and the books is a fine example of telling “truth through fiction.” She holds a doctorate in Theology, and is married to a Baptist minister, Gary Hunt. They live near St. Petersburg, Fla.

Angela is passionate about her hobby of photographing shelter animals. Last summer, she published the Kindle book Snapping Shelter Dogs: Using Your Camera to help Shelter Animals Find Loving Homes. Her next novel, The Offering, will be published in May.

Roanoke (The Keepers of the Ring)

Historical Fiction
Author: Angela Hunt

Roanoke (The Keepers of the Ring)

In 1587, a fleet of English ships carrying 117 settlers set sail for the New World. Sir Walter Raleigh was charged with establishing this English foothold in the Americas, which would allow England to scout out gold, claim some territory, and establish a base camp for raids on Spanish ships.

Angela Hunt reimagines this slice of Colonial history through the eyes of Jocelyn White, a newlywed reluctant to leave her home in England for the wild shores of the New World. White’s journey is fraught with danger, but her dependence on God and God’s providence carry her safely through.

The Way, The Truth, and The Lies: How the Gospels Mislead Christians about Jesus’ True Message

The Way, The Truth, and The Lies: How the Gospels Mislead Christians about Jesus' True Message

“I am the Way, the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through me.”–John 14:6

With those simple words Jesus of Nazareth set into motion a religion that has won converts and conquered nations for over 2000 years. But did Jesus actually say those words? Did His many miracles happen the way that the Gospel writers describe them? Did Jesus really give the strict moral code that Christians labor under and rule by today?

The Bible says no.

In this controversial and groundbreaking new look at Jesus of Nazareth’s life and ministry, Reverend Roy A. Teel Jr. takes his readers on a journey
through the New Testament Gospels and reveals conflicts and questions the Bible itself poses about Jesus and His true message.

Was Jesus really born of a virgin? What did Jesus do before His ministry? Could Jesus have been married?

This book cuts through these oft-repeated myths to reveal a remarkably human Jesus. It breaks down the walls that have separated believers from nonbelievers to show Jesus’ true message to humanity—a message so simple and so pure that He had to die for teaching it.

When I Married My Mother: A Daughter's Search for What Really Matters - and How She Found It Caring for Mama Jo

Jo Maeder was a not-so-young DJ on a decidedly youth-driven New York City radio station (Z100) when a series of crises led her to do the unthinkable: leave New York City for the Bible Belt – “Greensboring,” North Carolina – to care for her estranged, eccentric “Mama Jo.” Everyone predicted Operation Mama Jo would be a disaster. Jo’s therapist suspected Rescuer Syndrome – and her mother could not be rescued. Jo’s friends staged an intervention. Even Mama Jo, who had been a distant presence in Jo’s life for three decades, had her doubts.

What Jo thought would be some of the worst years of her life turned out to be some of the best. And she discovered there’s nothing boring about Greensboro. Jo’s roller-coaster ride with the unforgettable Mama Jo and her enormous doll collection, Jo’s born-again brother, the laid-back South, and first-time home ownership – plus a few drag queens along the way – proved to be a magical, hilarious, and, at times, heartbreaking antidote to heal a long-fractured family.
