Barnes & Noble is offering nine free audiobook stories by big-name authors on its online store. You can listen to the MP3 files on your iPod or other digital music player.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain

The offer is here, and expires Sunday. Barnes & Noble also is offering 50 percent off the price of one audiobook.

B&N's new Audiobook MP3 store offers downloads of more than 10,000 titles at prices from $10 to $20, which competes with Amazon's Audible.com subsidiary.
